A Little Bit of Heaven

On a recent trip to my local Amish grocery store, I discovered these.

They're small enough to fit on my finger nail. Disregard the wrinkles.

They fit nicely in a 1/4 Tsp.

I needed to find a use for them.

So, I whipped up a batch of Little Fudgies(you'll find the recipe in the Chickadee Cottage Empty Nest Cookbook)

I carefully pressed one into each cup,

which looked like this.

Hmm, messy cook.

Then I baked them, and they looked like this.

And then I ate them, 'cuz they looked like this.

And this.

And this.

So what are those golden nubbins of tasty goodness?

Mini Buckeyes. Who knew there was such a thing?

If you get the chance to visit an Amish grocery,

especially if you're in the Shawano area,

you may just be surprised at what you'll find.

I think it's about time to make another road trip.

After all, it's just a few miles down the road from the Chickadee Cottage.
